Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER
Biweekly Hours: 80.00
Shift: M-F 8am-5pm

The MetroHealth System is redefining health care by going beyond medical treatment to improve the foundations of community health and well-being: affordable housing, a cleaner environment, economic opportunity and access to fresh food, convenient transportation, legal help and other services. The system strives to become as good at preventing disease as it is at treating it. Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.

Summary:

Assists the SVP, Chief of Staff and Board Liaison and the Board of Trustees (Board) in completing its work as effectively and efficiently as possible, according to policy, goals, and strategic plans of the MetroHealth System. Schedules and prepares for board meetings, maintains Board records, updates bylaws, coordinates trustee orientation and continuing education, and provides support activities as necessary or as requested by the Board. Collaborates with the entire Board, the President/CEO, the Chief Legal Officer, and other members of the Senior Leadership Team. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.
Experience supporting governing boards and board committees.
Knowledge and experience with the State of Ohio Sunshine Laws.
Knowledge of health system programs, policies, and procedures
Knowledge of records management and general office practices and procedures.
Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality, corporate decorum, and social sensitivity required for the position.
Ability to organize and perform work both independently and collaboratively.
Ability to prepare and maintain board reports and requisite legal records.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong organizational, project management, problem-solving and impeccable multi-tasking abilities.
Ability to interact with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred:

Knowledge and experience in supporting a hospital system board.

Physical Demands:

May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.
Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
Ability to read job related documents.
Ability to use computer.
