About Us
Family Centered Services of Alaska (FCSA) is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) corporation founded in 1989 by Fairbanks, Alaska community members committed to helping children with a wide spectrum of behavioral and mental health needs. Today, FCSA has over 100 employees dedicated to our mission of providing unconditional care to children and their families.
FCSA provides behavioral and mental health services to youth aged 5-19. Services include outpatient therapy, education, foster care, and short or long-term residential treatment. FCSA is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and was one of the first organizations to be licensed by the state to establish, recruit, and monitor foster homes.
About the Job
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates travel logistics for Board of Directors and FCSA staff, including airfare, lodging, and rental vehicles.
- Acts as primary liaison to the Board of Directors; manages board and committee calendars, prepares board packets and other materials for distribution prior to scheduled meetings.
- Serves as the official recorder for board and executive meetings, ensuring meetings minutes are recorded, approved, and filed. From meeting minutes, tracks actionable items and track next steps to ensure accountability.
- Drafts, proofreads, and finalizes sophisticated professional correspondence, presentations, and reports on behalf of the CEO or as assigned.
- Manages the CEO’s calendar with a high level of discretion; prioritizes meeting requests and resolves scheduling conflicts.
- Screens telephone calls and visitors, directing stakeholders to the appropriate resource or department.
- Conducts independent research and data analysis to support executive decision-making; prepares executive summaries and briefing decks for internal and external use.
- Collaborates on cross-functional administrative projects as prioritized by the CEO.
- Serves as primary coordinator for executive-led initiatives, or other initiatives as assigned. Tracks project milestones, manages deadlines, and provides regular status updates to the CEO.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of four years of progressive administrative experience required. At least two years supporting C-Suite Executives or a Board of Directors strongly preferred.
- Experience in project coordination and managing confidential organizational data.
- Superior active listening and reading comprehension skills; ability to anticipate executive needs and proactively resolve scheduling or logistical conflicts.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft, edit, and proofread professional correspondence, board reports, and presentations with accuracy and a tone appropriate for executive leadership.
- Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to interact diplomatically with diverse stakeholders, including staff, community partners, and the Board of Directors.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe, and other digital tools.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
- This position requires extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking. May be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Current Alaska driver’s license, personal vehicle insurance, and driving history that allows for insurability by FCSA auto insurance carrier.
- Freedom from criminal convictions that may adversely affect the employee’s ability to work safely with children, contingent on a fingerprint & background records check conducted by the State of Alaska Division of Health Care Services Background Check Unit.
This position is a driving position. Applicants will be required to submit a driving record if selected for the position.
All applicants must be at least 21 years of age due to State of AK regulations and must pass a State of AK Background Check.

Pay: $74,380.00 - $79,000.00 per year
