We are seeking a dynamic, collaborative leader to manage high-level academic administration, faculty personnel processes, and campus operations. This critical role blends human resources management, regulatory compliance, policy interpretation, and staff supervision to ensure institutional excellence.
Experienced higher education professional with deep expertise in academic administration, faculty personnel management, and human resources compliance. Proven leader skilled in supervising staff, managing administrative operations, and interpreting complex university policies and collective bargaining agreements. Exceptional problem-solver and communicator who independently balances competing projects while maintaining strict confidentiality and fostering collaboration across all campus stakeholders.
Progressively responsible professional experience in higher education administration, human resources, academic affairs, business operations, or a related field. Experience coordinating complex administrative processes, interpreting and applying policies and regulations, supervising staff, managing personnel actions, and supporting executive-level operations is preferred. Experience working with faculty personnel processes, accreditation activities, compliance requirements, contracts or agreements, and budget administration in a higher education environment is highly desirable.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, education, human resources, organizational leadership, or a related field and five years of progressively responsible professional experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. At least five years of progressively responsible professional experience in higher education administration, human resources, academic affairs, business operations, or a closely related field.
- Experience interpreting and applying policies, regulations, collective bargaining agreements, or other compliance requirements in a professional work environment.
- Experience supervising employees, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
Position Details:
This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, 12 month, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 80, based on education and experience.
