Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Executive Housekeeper to lead the housekeeping department at a branded IHG hotel. This is a true working leadership role, you'll be right alongside your team cleaning and inspecting rooms, leading by example every day.

About the Role
The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for the overall cleanliness, presentation, and inspection standards of the hotel, ensuring every room meets IHG brand requirements. This role requires a strong balance of hands-on housekeeping work, team leadership, and administrative/reporting responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Clean and inspect guest rooms and public spaces to IHG brand standards
Lead, schedule, and train a team of room attendants and housekeeping staff
Calculate and manage Minutes Per Room (MPR) to optimize labor efficiency and productivity
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities; place orders as needed
Conduct daily room inspections and address deficiencies promptly
Ensure compliance with all IHG cleanliness, safety, and brand audit standards
Coordinate with Front Desk and Maintenance on room status, out-of-order rooms, and guest requests
Maintain accurate housekeeping records using hotel property management/computer systems
Lead from the front — ready to jump in and clean rooms personally when needed, especially during high occupancy or staffing shortages

Requirements

Prior experience as an Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Manager at an IHG-branded property strongly preferred; candidates without IHG experience must have prior experience at another major hotel brand
Proficient in IHG housekeeping standards, brand requirements, and inspection protocols highly preferred
Computer proficient — comfortable using property management systems, spreadsheets, and calculating MPR (Minutes Per Room)
Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred
Willingness and enthusiasm to be hands-on with physical cleaning duties alongside the team
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
Prior supervisory experience managing a housekeeping team

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods throughout the shift
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25-50 lbs (linens, supplies, equipment)
Ability to perform repetitive motions (making beds, vacuuming, scrubbing, wiping)
Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines
Ability to climb stairs and be on your feet for the majority of the shift
