Senior Accountant

Hybrid | Greater Boston Area

Our client is a well-established, growing professional services and technology consulting organization that partners with businesses across a wide range of industries to deliver innovative technology, business consulting, and managed services solutions. The company is currently implementing a new ERP platform (Sage Intacct), creating a unique opportunity for a Senior Accountant to play a meaningful role in the implementation, testing, training, and ongoing optimization of the system while supporting the day-to-day accounting operations.

This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working with accounting systems, improving processes, and partnering with the business to enhance efficiencies.

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze journal entries and transactions related to the day-to-day general accounting function.
Perform general ledger account reconciliations and account analysis.
Prepare supporting schedules and assist with the monthly close process.
Reconcile bank accounts and support cash management activities.
Analyze transactions flowing through accounting subledgers into the general ledger to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Assist with accrual calculations and other month-end accounting schedules.
Support the implementation, testing, validation, and ongoing optimization of Sage Intacct.
Work closely with accounting leadership to improve accounting processes through automation and system enhancements.
Ensure the integrity of financial data and maintain strong internal controls.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accounting and financial reporting initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
Approximately 3-6 years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
Experience working with accounting systems and ERP implementations or upgrades is highly desirable.
Sage Intacct experience is a strong plus.
Experience within a professional services, consulting, staffing, engineering, IT services, or other project-based services environment is preferred.
Strong Excel and analytical skills.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
