Full Job Description

Medical Receptionist

Invision Health is a well established, multi-specialty, private medical practice located in Williamsville, NY with several satellite offices in the WNY area, as well as Rochester, NY and West Palm Beach, Florida.

As a Medical Receptionist, you are responsible for performing medical office duties as needed to support the medical staff and office staff with the day to day operations of the Practice. Prompt and courteous customer service is of utmost importance.

Responsibilities:

Welcomes visitors/patients by greeting them in person or on the telephone, answering or referring questions.
Responsible for scheduling appointments and obtaining and updating patient information(i.e. Demographics, PMH, medications, vitals, allergies, etc.)
Responsible for checking patient in for appointment, reviewing demographic information, making updates as applicable, reviewing all practice agreements with patient, explain policies and ensure patient understands
Responsible for collecting co-payments/premiums and other patient balances and recording them in EMR.
Run I-stop and uploading into chart.
Assist with chart prep ensuring all test results are imported into the EMR, ready and available for the provider prior to the scheduled appointment
Escorts patients to exam rooms or other areas of the building as needed
Responsible for answering phones and provides customer service to-answers questions, or answers incoming calls.
Files documents/documents into medical records using appropriate file locations.
Maintains safe practice by complying with procedures, rules, regulations, and laws.

EDUCATION: High school graduation or GED, additional schooling to obtain licensure.

EXPERIENCE: Medical office experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology desirable. Word processing and computer experience. EMR (Medent) is preferred.

REQUIREMENTS: None. Certified medical assistant preferred.
