Full Job Description

Position Overview

Erie and Niagara is seeking a full-time Project & Training Coordinator for our Underwriting Department. This is a great opportunity to join an established WNY company! Primary job responsibilities will include supporting the Project & Training Specialist by independently performing daily system testing and product development support work. This will include creation and maintenance of training materials, department procedure manuals and company rating & underwriting manuals. Also, will be responsible for having a proficient level of working knowledge of the underwriting department business and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Project & Testing Work

Execute comprehensive testing on both newly developed and existing products to ensure functionality, performance, and adherence to quality standards.
Collaborate in identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues discovered during the testing lifecycle, contributing to effective troubleshooting efforts.
Partner with team members to maintain high standards of quality assurance throughout all phases of testing.
Systematically analyze, organize, and document test results, ensuring accuracy and clarity for stakeholders and future reference.
Support defect management processes, including logging, tracking, and reporting issues using established tools
Develop and maintain clear, concise documentation for new processes, procedures, and testing protocols as required.
Perform additional related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support project goals and team objectives.
Assist with regression testing to validate that recent changes have not adversely impacted existing functionality, as well as support product upgrade testing to ensure seamless system enhancements.
Maintain, review, and update Rating & Agency manuals, related materials, and underwriting documentation to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with current policies and procedures.

Training

Contribute to the development, refinement, and delivery of training materials to support team knowledge, consistency, and performance improvement.
Maintain, review, and update training manuals, internal memos, and underwriting documentation to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with current policies and procedures.
Assist in onboarding new team members by supporting system training initiatives, ensuring a smooth transition and effective understanding of tools, processes, and expectations.

Underwriting Support

Provide administrative and documentation support to the Project & Training Specialist and Director of Underwriting ensuring the timely preparation and organization of required materials for third-party vendors, including external auditors.
Monitor and track failed tasks related to third-party vendor activities, proactively identifying issues and supporting resolution efforts to maintain workflow efficiency.
Support the organization, maintenance, and continuous updating of SharePoint repositories, ensuring all documents are accurate, current, and easily accessible to relevant stakeholders.

Performs other related duties as assigned by Project Specialist

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
Pursuit of AINS & API/AU Designation Required
Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude.
Ability to document and troubleshoot errors.
Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
Ability to set and meet deadlines.
Efficient in Microsoft.
Ability to use initiative and sound judgement to make decisions within established guidelines.
Demonstrates a broad knowledge of insurance industry terminology and laws as it pertains to assigned area.
Demonstrates the ability to learn general policies and procedures for underwriting insurance risk for all lines of business.
Must work well both independently and in a team environment.

Pay range for this position is $60,000-$75,000 annually depending on experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. The expected salary range for this position is displayed in accordance with the New York State Pay Transparency Law.
