Job Description

Summary

The Staff Therapist - OT will provide occupational therapy services to pediatric patients at The Shriners Hospital for Children, focusing on improving their functional independence and participation in daily activities.

Key Responsibilities

Demonstrates mentorship behaviors in practice settings, in the community and within the profession.
Functions as a subject matter expert and role model within the team, promoting a positive, organized, compliant and safe work environment based on open communication.
Responsible for supervision of the clinical education for students and the training and oversight of the non-professional staff members.
Participates in orientation and education of new employees. Ensures that competencies are completed appropriately across discipline.
Participates in program development and departmental responsibilities as assigned.
Identifies staff concerns and shares with the director as needed.
Maintains competence to plan, implement, evaluate and modify clinical programs and interventions to ensure evidence-based practice within the discipline. Provides patient care as needed.
Serves as a peer mentor through collaboration and recommendations to enhance treatment decisions as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

5 years pediatric occupational therapy experience
Specialty certification
Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy
Licensed in state of practice

The pay range for this position is $38.90 - $58.36. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
