Full Job Description

Lerman, Sweeney & Company is a boutique accounting and consulting firm that helps clients navigate the many challenges of owning, operating and expanding a business. We have been in business for more than 40 years and are located in Northbrook, IL. Our firm offers a wide array of tax, accounting and advisory services to many industries located primarily in the Chicago area.

Position Summary: Full-time experienced Accountant.

The accountant will be responsible for assisting with tax preparation, general accounting, financial closing, account reconciliations, and other various accounting functions. Successful candidate will have exposure to a variety of clients and public accounting areas including:

1. Closely held Corporations - C and S Corps

2. Partnerships and Not-for-Profits

3. Individual (business owners, high net worth)

4. Tax planning for all the above

5. Monthly, quarterly and annual financial preparation for small and medium sized businesses

Responsibilities:

Monthly close for clients
Tax preparation and planning for businesses
Project work onboarding new clients

Qualifications

CPA (Preferred)
Bachelors (Required)
Accounting: At least 3 years
QuickBooks experience is plus
Microsoft Office & Excel skills
