POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager of High School Success builds upon Beyond Breakthroughs current high school programming, outreach and guidance. Reporting to the Chief Alumni Success Officer, the Manager of High School Success is responsible for supporting alumni as they journey through their high school years and supporting the overall growth of the Beyond Breakthrough program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Advising a caseload of 9th-11th graders attending area high schools (3-4 times per academic year) (50%)

Conduct outreach and form relationships with students using strategies such as: One on one appointments, High school visits, Cold calls to students and families, Text messages and Email to guide students to create individualized post-high school plans, focusing on their strengths, interests, and goals.

Track student progress and provide ongoing support to ensure the successful attainment of post-high school goals

Maintain consistent engagement and partnership with families of 9th, 10th, and 11th-grade students

Host events or small group gatherings to support students with tasks such as FAFSA and application completion
-
Continuously stay informed on college, career and job training programs in Ohio to provide students with the most up-to-date and relevant advice

Support all aspects of the “A Step Beyond” program and serve as the assigned advisor for a portion of the participants

Support the Senior Director of Postsecondary Success in initiatives serving 12th-grade students

Conduct outreach and form relationships with students using strategies such as: One on one appointments, High school visits, Cold calls to students and families, Text messages and Email to guide students to create individualized post-high school plans, focusing on their strengths, interests, and goals.

Track student progress and provide ongoing support to ensure the successful attainment of post-high school goals

Managing strategic supports of the Beyond Breakthrough High School Success curriculum and campaign initiatives (20%)

Co-lead curriculum design, facilitation, and implementation for all high school visits

Support the Manager, High School Success with development of all high school success campaign initiatives

Develop goals and create assessment methods to track the effectiveness of campaigns, high school visits and key high school partner programs
-
In collaboration with the Chief Alumni Success Officer, strategically adjust goals and areas of focus throughout each academic cycle to meet the evolving needs of Breakthrough alumni and high school partners
Collecting and analyzing alumni data (10%)

Manage alumni data in Salesforce including contact notes and application progress

Regularly review caseload data and progress toward goals, then use the analysis to inform strategy and next steps

Serving as a full-time and engaged member of the Beyond Breakthrough team

Meet regularly with the Chief Alumni Success Officer as well as the entirety of the Beyond Breakthrough team

Develop positive, appropriate relationships with current students and alumni as well as with fellow staff members

Support all Beyond Breakthrough programming

Routinely support efforts of the High School Placement team

Routinely support efforts of the Friends of Breakthrough team
-
Attend and actively participate in regular team meetings

Other duties as assigned by the Chief Alumni Success Officer
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

2-3 years of education, student advising or counseling experience

1-2 years of project management

Proven experience working with students and their families in an educational setting

Proven knowledge of post-high school options including but not limited to higher education, trade and vocational options, and of best practices in exploring career pathways

Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, school staff, and community partners

CORE FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE:

Develop and manage relationships with Breakthrough Public Schools alumni, parents and family members, high school partners, community partners and members of the Breakthrough Public Schools network

Advise a caseload of 9th–11th grade alumni to support their overall high school success, both academically and personally

Advise a caseload of 12th grade alumni in developing and pursuing post–high school plans

Track engagement and manage alumni profiles consistently and accurately using Salesforce
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Hybrid work schedule: in-office Tuesday–Thursday; remote Monday and Friday

Performs work in an office setting with moderate levels of noise and exposure to fluorescent lighting

Regular evening hours required; occasional weekend work as needed
