Full Job Description

Purpose: To provide safe, nurturing care to infants and children while parents attend worship and other church functions or church-related events.

Responsibilities:

Greet parents and children as they arrive. Complete sign-in/sign-out sheet for each child.
Work with a volunteer to supervise children with a focus on providing a safe, clean, nurturing environment.
Attend to physical needs of children, including diaper changes, snacks, and bottles as agreed/provided by parents.
Establish a warm relationship with each child. Respect each child's personality and boundaries.
Discipline is through positive reinforcement and redirection only.
Clean up the nursery after each use. Put away toys and materials. Sanitize toys and tables weekly.
Supervise older children (through elementary age) during pre-worship care and other church events where childcare is needed.
Notify the Senior Minister and Nursery Coordinator of an anticipated absence as far in advance as possible.
Complete the timesheet on the final Sunday of each month.
Notify the Project Manager of needed supplies or materials.
