We are looking for a Quality Control Lab Technician who enjoys hands-on laboratory work, takes pride in accurate results and documentation, and wants to be part of a team where their work directly contributes to the quality of the products we manufacture.
About the Position
Temp-to-Hire | Full-Time | $27–$29/hour
This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with the potential for direct employment with Vege Labs based on performance and business needs. Benefits are available upon direct hire.
This is a hands-on laboratory position focused primarily on stability testing and quality control testing of bulk and finished products. We are looking for an experienced QC laboratory professional with hands-on stability testing experience, preferably in the cosmetics, personal care, OTC, pharmaceutical, or similar regulated manufacturing industry.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of laboratory testing, documentation, GMP practices, and stability programs and be able to step into the role with minimal training. They will work closely with the QC team and other departments to ensure products meet established quality and specification requirements.
What You'll Do
- Manage and maintain stability samples and stability testing schedules.
- Pull and test stability samples according to established protocols.
- Monitor stability chambers and maintain accurate records.
- Perform physical and chemical testing of bulk and finished products, including pH, viscosity, specific gravity, color, odor, appearance, and other established QC parameters.
- Review, record, and communicate laboratory and stability results.
- Identify and report abnormal results, trends, and potential quality concerns.
- Perform routine QC testing to support production and product release requirements.
- Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, stability records, test reports, logs, and electronic documentation.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Assist with OOS results, deviations, investigations, and root-cause analysis.
- Assist with product specifications, test methods, and other QC documentation as needed.
- Communicate laboratory results and concerns to QC Management and other departments.
- Provide coverage for the Raw Materials Lab Technician when needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory.
- Follow all GMP, GLP, Good Documentation Practices, safety, and company procedures.
What We're Looking For
- 2–3 years of QC laboratory or laboratory testing experience preferred.
- Experience in cosmetics, personal care, OTC, pharmaceutical, or similar manufacturing strongly preferred.
- Stability testing experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field preferred; equivalent relevant laboratory experience may be considered.
- Experience with laboratory instruments and routine QC testing.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation skills.
- Good mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and work at laboratory benches.
- Ability to bend, reach, and work in laboratory and manufacturing areas.
- Ability to lift up to 25–30 lbs.
- Ability to work safely with laboratory chemicals while using required PPE.
Pay: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
