Kitchen Assistant/ Deli Clerk
Cravings on the Go! in Norwood, MA is searching for a quick serve Kitchen Assistant/Deli Clerk who is passionate about food and customer service. This role requires work in a fast paced environment providing friendly service and great food! If this sounds like the challenge you’ve been looking for, this might be your perfect opportunity!

The Kitchen Assistant helps and supports the Kitchen Manager to deliver the menu meals to the required national and local health standards and RoJoCo standards. They support the Kitchen Manager in the effective operation of the kitchen and play an active role in the cleanliness and order of the kitchen, backroom food pantry and storage. They are responsible for the preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch and dinner items for the convenience store kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

· To prepare "grab and go" menu items from prep to cold case or warmer display.

· To help wash and clean all kitchen dishes throughout the day.

· To help put away deliveries in a timely manner and record inventory levels and dates.

· To sanitize all required kitchen surfaces.

· To dispose of waste correctly.

· To ensure that all food is used within the prescribed period, with particular attention paid to perishable goods.

· To contribute in the serving of food.

· To keep the kitchen, food storage areas and preparation areas clean and tidy.

· To clean all fridges and freezers as necessary.

· Partner with the cook regarding breaks to ensure there is adequate coverage for the kitchen.]

· To perform other duties requested by Kitchen, and Store Managers to support the operation of the site.

Requirements:

1. Following all health and safety protocol and regulations

2. Assisting Kitchen Manager with any and all kitchen and food services duties in the store.

3. Putting away deliveries correctly

4. Great communications skills

5. Experience of working in a similar industry such as food service, catering or hospitality

6. Previous food handling experience

7. Ability to adhere to all health & safety practices

8. High levels of personal hygiene and appearance

Job Type: Part time possibly Full Time

Salary: From $16.00 - 17.00per hour
