About the Role
Specialized Testing, Inc. is an established construction materials testing laboratory in Santa Fe Springs. We are hiring a Construction Materials Laboratory Support Technician to support our Product Qualification laboratory.
This is a full-time, hands-on position for someone who enjoys physical work, working with tools, and contributing to a team. The position primarily supports our testing technicians and engineers by preparing concrete specimens, building forms, moving materials, and keeping the laboratory and yard organized.
This is a laboratory support position and is not primarily a materials-testing position. Previous laboratory experience is not required. We are willing to train someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, coachable, and takes pride in doing quality work.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build, cut, assemble, set, and remove wooden forms for concrete slabs and specimens.
- Assist with concrete pours, including preparation, consolidation, finishing, and cleanup.
- Safely operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment to move concrete blocks, specimens, tools, and supplies.
- Stage materials and specimens for upcoming laboratory projects.
- Use hand and power tools safely.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe laboratory, shop, and outdoor work area.
- Assist technicians and engineers with project setup and other hands-on laboratory support work.
- Follow written instructions, safety requirements, and established company procedures.
- Complete basic records and report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, or work problems promptly.

Requirements
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Comfortable performing physical work in laboratory, shop, and outdoor conditions.
- Able to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, push, pull, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working around concrete, construction materials, dust, noise, equipment, and changing weather conditions.
- Able to understand and follow safety procedures and detailed work instructions.
- Basic measuring, math, and recordkeeping skills.
- Willing to learn forklift operation and the safe use of hand and power tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following is helpful but not required:
- Construction or concrete work
- Carpentry or building wooden forms
- Forklift or material-handling equipment
- Warehouse, manufacturing, shop, or industrial work
- Construction materials or laboratory environments
Schedule and Work Location
- Full-time, day-shift position
- Monday through Friday
- Work is performed in person at our Santa Fe Springs laboratory

Hiring Process
Selected candidates will complete a short phone interview followed by an onsite interview and practical hands-on assessment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
