Hi, I'm looking for a a hard-working, adventurous , caregiver with a positive attitude for myself. This shift is usually 4:00 PM to midnight but sometimes if I have plans I might have you come a little early or stay late if it's a night out. Sundays I'm never out late though.

You will need to be willing /Able to sign up with IHSS (in home supportive services) so you must have a Social Security number and pass a background check.

I broke my neck years ago so I'm paralyzed and need help with all the basic things that you can imagine if your hands were non-functional, like going to bed at night, brushing teeth, Making Food sometimes and help with eating restaurants. I have a urine collection bag on my leg that needs to get emptied every few hours and if something's bothering my body I need to get adjusted in my wheelchair . It's a solid 30 minutes of work to get to bed at night and in the afternoon on a weekend I might be going with you to visit friends or working on some projects at home.

Also, It's a big bonus if you can occasionally be a backup to cover the other weekend caregiver if They ever need to call out. I understand that people have lives on the weekends and make plans.

The job is paid through IHSS and it pays $19.67.

A little more About me: I'm a spinal cord injury quadriplegic in his 30's . I have a great sense of humor (often dark and dry) and every once in a while, I might actually be funny. My caregivers truly become like family. I have one who has been with me for 8 years. I'm an engineer, entrepreneurial, and I'm currently running a small startup that sells an equestrian product I created. I'm also working on adaptive products for other quads. I love watching a great movie or series, and love to visit friends. I'm a total tech nerd and love to build stuff and design/ 3D print adaptations for myself. I'm really extroverted and love to have a good conversation and meet new people.

You: Seeking responsible, kind, and capable person as a caregiver for active and healthy SCI quadriplegic. Ideal candidate is NOT LAZY, and hopefully a quick learner. If you're a hard worker, truly want to help someone live their best life, and think it might be cool to travel In the future without breaking the bank, this will be super fun for both of us. No experience necessary, as I'm happy to teach you everything, but the desire to help someone live a fulfilling life is. Must be physically able to transfer client between wheelchair and bed/sofa (I will teach you! I'm only 135 pounds and it's mostly technique), most people are able to do this as long as they don't have a bad back or anything.

No addicts. No smokers.

Side note: Eventually, I would like to figure out how I can travel so it's a bonus if I can find someone who is down to go on trips with me and my friend(s) in the future.
