Full Job Description

Golden State Medical Transport provides safe, reliable, and compassionate non-emergency medical transportation throughout Los Angeles County, Orange County, and the Inland Empire. As we continue expanding in Orange County, we are hiring dependable local drivers who want meaningful, people-focused work.

Please Read Before Applying

Applicants must currently live in Orange County, preferably in or near Anaheim or a surrounding city.

Because the assigned company vehicle may be parked at the driver’s residence, priority will be given to applicants who live near our Orange County service area and have a safe, secure location to park the vehicle overnight.

Relocation assistance is not available. Applicants who live outside the service area may not be considered.

Position: NEMT Driver

Company vehicle provided

As an NEMT Driver, you will safely transport patients to medical appointments, dialysis treatments, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and other healthcare locations.

You will assist passengers with safe entry and exit while representing Golden State Medical Transport with patience, professionalism, and compassion.

During your first 30–60 days, hours may begin on an on-call or part-time basis as routes are developed. The position may transition into more consistent hours as transportation volume increases.

Key Responsibilities

Safely transport passengers to and from medical appointments and healthcare facilities
Provide professional door-through-door assistance
Assist passengers with mobility challenges, wheelchairs, and safe vehicle entry and exit
Communicate clearly and respectfully with passengers, families, facility staff, and dispatch
Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Keep the assigned company vehicle clean, organized, and inspection-ready
Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures
Report vehicle damage, maintenance concerns, accidents, or safety issues immediately
Safely park and secure the assigned company vehicle at your residence when off duty
Remain flexible when appointment times, discharge times, or transportation schedules change

Qualifications

Valid California driver’s license
Clean driving record for the past three years
Minimum three years of professional driving experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Reliable, punctual, patient, and calm under pressure
Strong communication and customer-service skills
Comfortable assisting elderly passengers and individuals with mobility limitations
Able to safely perform the physical duties required to assist passengers
Flexible availability for daytime, evening, and occasional weekend assignments
Must have a safe overnight parking location at your residence, such as a driveway, garage, or secured or gated parking area
Familiarity with Anaheim, Orange County, and surrounding areas is preferred
CPR and First Aid certification preferred; training may be provided

Pay and Schedule

Starting pay: $19.00 per hour
Performance-based pay increases
Approximately 20-45 hours per week
Part-time and full-time opportunities
Primarily Monday through Friday
Evenings and weekends may be required based on transportation needs
On-call flexibility is required during the initial 30–60-day ramp-up period
