At Long Island Veterinary Specialists (LIVS), you’ll join a talented team of specialists in a newly renovated, 30,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art referral and emergency hospital where advanced medicine, collaboration, and a healthy team culture come together. As a board-certified or residency-trained Oncologist, you’ll have the opportunity to practice alongside specialists across Cardiology, Dermatology, Integrative Medicine, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Rehabilitation, and Surgery while managing a diverse and rewarding oncology caseload. LIVS is a highly respected teaching facility with established residency and internship training programs across multiple disciplines. You’ll work within a collaborative environment that values continued learning, technological advancement, and exceptional patient care, while also prioritizing the health and work-life balance of its team. Your practice will be supported by advanced diagnostic capabilities, including a Philips 3 Tesla MRI, Philips multi-detector CT scanner, in-house fluoroscopy, digital radiography suites, advanced ultrasound, and a Storz HD endoscopy system. You’ll also have the opportunity to collaborate closely with a team of approximately 180 veterinary professionals across a broad range of specialties.

In your day-to-day, you will:
- Manage a diverse oncology caseload while delivering thoughtful, evidence-based care tailored to each patient and family.
- Oversee chemotherapy protocols and provide comprehensive cancer treatment in collaboration with the hospital’s multidisciplinary specialty team.
- Partner closely with Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Radiation Oncology, Emergency and Critical Care, and other services to develop integrated treatment plans for complex patients.
- Support clients through difficult diagnoses and treatment decisions by communicating clearly, compassionately, and confidently throughout the patient journey.
- Mentor and collaborate with technicians, interns, residents, and fellow specialists within LIVS’s established teaching environment.
- Contribute to the continued growth of the oncology service through clinical collaboration, knowledge sharing, and opportunities to advance the hospital’s capabilities.
- Utilize LIVS’s advanced diagnostic technology and collaborate with other specialists to support thorough staging, treatment planning, and ongoing case management.
- Contribute to a positive, healthy hospital culture that values teamwork, professional development, and the overall well-being of its clinicians and support teams.
What You Bring
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for New York state veterinary licensure.
- Board Certification in Medical Oncology or Residency Trained in Medical Oncology.
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
