About Elite Industrial Controls

Elite Industrial Controls is a growing, vertically integrated industrial manufacturer located in Berlin Heights, Ohio. We design, manufacture, assemble, and test engineered industrial dampers, valves, ductwork, and related equipment for demanding industrial applications.

We are looking for an experienced Manual / CNC Machinist who can work alongside our current team of machinists and support both traditional manual machining & CNC machining/programming in a custom manufacturing environment.

We have a very Fast Paced, High variety – Low Volume manufacturing environment.

Position Summary

The Manual / CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating manual and CNC equipment to produce machined components for custom industrial products. This role requires strong manual machining skills, CNC experience, and the ability to program using Mastercam for an OKUMA CNC machine.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, mechanically skilled, and comfortable working in a job-shop/custom fabrication environment where parts may vary from project to project.

Key Responsibilities

· Set up and operate manual machining equipment, including Manual engine lathes, Bridgeport/manual milling machines, Drill presses and other related shop equipment

Set up, operate, and support CNC machining on an OKUMA CNC machine
Use Mastercam to create and modify CNC programs
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work instructions
Machine parts to required tolerances and specifications
Select appropriate tools, speeds, feeds, fixtures, and machining methods
Perform basic inspection of machined parts using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other measuring tools
Make adjustments as needed to ensure quality and accuracy
Work with engineering, fabrication, and assembly teams to support production needs
Help troubleshoot machining issues and recommend practical improvements when needed

Required Qualifications

Experience operating manual lathes
Experience operating Bridgeport/manual milling machines
Experience operating CNC machining equipment
Experience with OKUMA CNC machines
Ability to program CNC equipment using Mastercam
Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and blueprints
Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, workholding, tolerances, and measuring instruments
Must be able to adapt to changing priorities
Ability to work independently and manage assigned work efficiently
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Dependable attendance and a positive team-oriented attitude

What We Are Looking For

We are not looking for someone who only pushes buttons. We need a machinist who understands the full machining process — from reading a drawing, planning the setup, selecting tooling, programming when needed, machining the part, and checking the finished work.

A strong candidate will be comfortable with both old-school manual machining and modern CNC programming/operation.

Work Environment

This position is based at our manufacturing facility in Berlin Heights, Ohio. The role is hands-on and shop-floor based. The machinist will work around industrial equipment, fabricated components, and custom manufacturing projects.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work around machinery during the shift
Ability to lift and move materials as required for machining work
Ability to safely handle tooling, fixtures, parts, and measuring equipment
Ability to follow all safety procedures in a manufacturing environment
