POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the overall management, coordination and operations of the information technology department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The following statements are intended as an overview of key responsibilities of the work for this position and are not all inclusive:

Provides next-level guest service to internal and external guests. Demonstrates the Cedar Crossing culture in all interactions with guests and co-workers.

Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established procedures with company policy and state regulations.

Ensures compliance with all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls, and government regulations.

Responsible for creating and fostering an environment of support and motivation for Team Members.

Monitors and evaluates all department programs, events, and projects to ensure the successful execution leading to achievement of department goals and contributing to company profitability.

Analyzes departments through data and reports to implement changes allowing for most successful implementation of future programs.
-
Prepares departmental operating budgets, monitors budgetary compliance, and acts on budget variance items.

Monitors, manages, maintains and administers the server environment.
-
Secures all servers and prepares as well as monitors a disaster recovery, including backups of servers.
-
Provides repair and upgrades for hardware, networks and software.
-
Responsible for coordinating the selection and purchase of equipment and support materials needed to reach company goals.
-
Develops and maintains an accurate inventory of all technology parts and equipment.
-
Coordinates and provides in-service and hands-on training for Team Members for both hardware and software applications as needed.

Remains current in the utilization of technology by attending training sessions, seminars and workshops.
-
Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as applicable.

Monitors network performance and identifies issues.
-
Manages acquisition, installation, and maintenance of LAN hardware/software.
-
Manages systems and network operations including troubleshooting, adding users, assigning rights, resetting passwords, backups, restores, and email setup.

Oversees team in project review and assignment.
-
Oversees environment design and baseline for modifications supporting new capabilities.
-
Oversees the creation of administrative designs and documentation including environment drawings, mappings, and configuration specifications.
-
Ensures program deliverables by managing operational dependencies such as change and asset management.
-
Oversees feasibility studies and develops RFPs.
-
Responsible for connectivity to external clients.
-
Monitors system performance and implements tuning.
-
Oversees software and network security.
-
Manages voice system operations.
-
Ensures integrity of host computers, databases, and data transfer.
-
Deploys and maintains firewalls, cryptography systems, and host security.
-
Analyzes system usage and plans for growth.
-
Oversees required system reconfigurations.
-
Researches emerging products, services, protocols, and standards.
-
Negotiates with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors.
-
Develops policies, procedures, and training plans for system administration.
-
Oversees network and security audits.
-
Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position’s supervisor.

Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.
-

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science, plus ten (10) years progressive experience in IT operations. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. Broad knowledge of hardware and software. Must have the ability to learn quickly. Information systems audit or regulatory review experience desired. Logical problem‑solving approach and strong interpersonal/client handling skills. Methodical, investigative mindset with excellent communication skills. Ability to formulate and communicate ideas and make independent decisions.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to the other duties described herein, every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
-
Obtain and maintain required license(s).
-
Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
-
Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
-
Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member’s department.
-
Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gambling.
-
Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls.

Take the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
-
Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member of which they have knowledge.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must have ability to:

Work in an environment with moderate to loud noise levels, may be exposed to secondhand smoke and varied light levels, including flashing lights.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission License
Valid driver’s license with a minimum of three (3) years driving experience.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Will manage subordinates who may supervise Team Members. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit(s).
