Vaco is partnering with a confidential Connecticut organization to identify an Accounting Analyst who enjoys combining accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis in a mission-driven environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who wants broad exposure to budgeting, financial reporting, month-end close, and operational finance while working closely with executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing budget-to-actual variance analysis
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly financial reports
- Assist with month-end close and general ledger maintenance
- Manage accounts receivable, billing, collections, and aging analysis
- Support annual audits and ensure compliance with applicable funding and financial regulations
- Maintain fixed asset records and assist with property tax and regulatory filings
- Partner with department leaders to provide financial guidance and reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy
What We're Looking For:
? Experience in accounting, budgeting, or financial analysis
? Strong knowledge of month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
? Experience with budget preparation and variance analysis
? Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
? Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently
? Proficiency with Excel and accounting/ERP systems
