Metro East Dermatology & Skin Cancer Center is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in building a career in healthcare administration, medical office management, or business administration while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a busy medical practice.
Recent graduates in Healthcare Administration, Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or related fields are encouraged to apply! Position Details
- Full-time
- Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- No nights or weekends
- Primary work location: O'Fallon, Illinois
- Employees must be able to work at any of our Illinois locations as assigned, including Breese, Columbia, Highland, O'Fallon, and Red Bud. The ability to work at different locations is an essential function of the position.

Responsibilities
- Provide a welcoming and professional experience when checking patients in and out.
- Verify insurance eligibility and assist with insurance-related administrative tasks.
- Answer incoming calls using excellent phone etiquette and schedule appointments accurately and courteously.
- Manage faxes and other incoming documentation.
- Utilize electronic medical record and practice management software, including Modernizing Medicine.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Follow HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Assist with other administrative and front-office responsibilities as needed.
- Learn and contribute to the workflows that keep a busy medical practice operating efficiently.

Experience & Education
- Medical administrative or receptionist experience is preferred but not required.
- Recent graduates with a degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or a related field are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Previous medical, dental, veterinary, or Medical Assistant experience is a plus.
- Experience with insurance eligibility is a plus but not required.
- Dermatology experience is a plus but not required.
