Full Job Description

Job Summary

Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical operations of our practice. In this energetic role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical efficiency. Duties

Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures
Assist dentists chairside during various treatments, including restorative work, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and dental x-ray equipment
Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality
Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures to promote optimal dental health
Perform dental instrument processing and sterilization following infection prevention management protocols to ensure aseptic technique is maintained at all times
Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation as needed during procedures involving medical imaging or oral surgery
Support administrative tasks such as patient management software updates, appointment scheduling, and greeting patients as a friendly dental receptionist

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and clinical procedures
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Curve for efficient medical documentation and record keeping
Strong understanding of infection control practices including dental sterilization procedures and healthcare infection prevention standards
Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while adhering to safety protocols for radiation exposure
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry techniques and experience working with children is highly desirable
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about oral health and coordinate with the dental team
Certification in dental assisting or related training preferred; additional certifications in radiography or infection control are a plus
