Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee the project management of water filtering equipment in industrial settings. The successful candidate will not only manage the project lifecycle but will also lead field commissioning activities, performing hands-on testing, startup, and final validation of systems to ensure they meet operational specifications before client handover. This role requires strong project management expertise, technical knowledge of filtration and separation equipment in industrial settings, and excellent communication and leadership skills.

This is a bonused position based on job performance

Performance reviews are done 2X / year.

Responsibilities

1. Project Planning and Execution:

Act as the primary interface between the Sales team (quoting/specs), engineering (defining requirements), the factory (manufacturing/scheduling), Finance (budget/actuals/collection), and service (install and commissioning) to ensure technical alignment and resource availability.
Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timeline, budget, and resource allocation.
Coordinate with stakeholders, clients, and suppliers to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements.
Manage project schedules, tasks, and deliverables to ensure timely and successful project completion.
Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies. Communicate these and any budget changes to the organization.
Oversee the installation and commissioning process, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.

2. Stakeholder Management:

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. This includes all contractual matters; ensure project execution aligns strictly with the signed Scope of Work (SOW), Terms and Conditions (T&Cs), and technical specifications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, finance, technicians, and contractors, to ensure smooth project execution.
Foster positive relationships with customers, suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors, and manage their performance.

3. Budget and Resource Management:

Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring their availability and timely delivery.
Optimize resource allocation, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet project requirements.

4. Quality Assurance:

Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications throughout the project.
Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to identify and resolve any issues or deficiencies.
Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement measures to enhance project outcomes.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate project documentation within the ERP, including purchase orders, submittals, change orders, and progress reports.
Generate comprehensive project status reports, highlighting key milestones, risks, and accomplishments.
Prepare or coordinate final project documentation, including as-built drawings, operation manuals, and warranty information.
Draft, negotiate, and facilitate the execution of change orders, ensuring all technical justifications and cost impacts are thoroughly documented.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
At least 7 years of proven experience as a Project Manager; certified PMP preferred.
Strong technical knowledge of water and wastewater equipment, chemistry, and filtration.
Demonstrated project management skills, including project planning, budgeting for POC (Proof of Concept) projects, and resource allocation.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers.
Proficiency in project management software and tools for planning, scheduling, and reporting.
Proficiency with a wide range of productivity tools, including collaboration software, standard MS Office tools (e.g., Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, Teams), and ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in industrial settings; ASME familiarity preferred.
Flexibility to travel to project sites as required, up to 50%.
