House of Umami, located in Northville, Michigan, is seeking a sushi chef who is passionate about delivering the highest quality food and dining experience to our guests. Join our team as we venture to provide Michigan with a destination for heartwarming bowls of ramen paired with fresh sushi. We're not just a restaurant; we're a gathering place for friends, family, and food lovers. We're excited to become a part of Northville's vibrant scene, serving meals that bring people together.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare sushi dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure the quality and freshness of ingredients used in sushi preparation
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and labeling of ingredients
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient operation of the restaurant
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and making recommendations

-Must be dependable, reliable, responsible, and punctual.

-Have a strong work ethic with a commitment to show up on-time and maintain attendance standards.

Experience:
- Previous experience as a sushi chef of at least 3 years
- Knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and presentation
- Familiarity with menu planning and creating new sushi items
- Understanding of food safety regulations and practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills

Shift Flexibility: Must be able to work different shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.

Physical Demands: Must be able to work in a standing position for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to work under stress, have excellent organizational skills, and multitask throughout the shift. Must have a clean, professional appearance with excellent grooming habits.
