Job Description: Seeking a skilled and motivated Enterprise-level Senior Network Engineer to support the management and maintenance of our classified network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in network engineering in areas such as, designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting an organization's network infrastructure, ensuring smooth data communication by managing and configuring network devices like routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points, monitoring network performance, identifying and resolving issues to maximize uptime and security. Ideally, you will have experience working in secure, classified environments and versed with DOE environments. This position involves working closely with IT and IA professionals to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of network services in compliance with government security regulations.
You’ll be joining a dedicated team focused on providing great service and keeping our technology secure. We value collaboration and work together to make sure our security practices are clear, effective, and followed across the board.
Required Skills: Maintain and configure network infrastructure including SD-WAN, routers, firewalls, and data encryption systems, install and troubleshoot datacenter hardware such as Palo Alto, Cisco, Windows, monitor network performance to optimize enterprise-scale operations, resolve and communicate complex networking issues, implement disaster recovery procedures, and create comprehensive technical documentation to ensure operational continuity. Collaborate with senior leadership, and key stakeholders to align network strategies with organizational objectives, automate multi-vendor configurations (Cisco, Palo Alto) to streamline deployments, and support advanced solutions like SD-WAN and zero-touch provisioning. Manage routing protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP), ensure compliance with government security standards (NIST, DISA STIGs, FISMA), and implement COMSEC or TEMPEST requirements where applicable. Act as a self-starting mentor to junior staff, stay current with industry best practices through professional development, and drive IT modernization initiatives to improve scalability and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
