We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead field operations on concrete construction projects throughout the nation. This role is ideal for a hands-on construction leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, develops high-performing teams, and takes pride in delivering successful projects from start to finish.
As a Traveling Superintendent, you'll play a critical role in planning work, leading crews, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring projects are executed with precision, efficiency, and accountability.
About the Role
The Traveling Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day management of field operations on assigned projects. This position oversees project execution, workforce management, scheduling, safety compliance, quality control, and coordination with project stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, problem solver, and leader who can successfully manage multiple priorities while maintaining a commitment to safety, productivity, and client satisfaction.
This is a travel-intensive position supporting projects throughout the nation.
What You'll Do
- Lead all field operations for assigned concrete construction projects
- Plan and coordinate daily and weekly work activities
- Manage project schedules and drive production goals
- Supervise field personnel, foremen, subcontractors, and trade partners
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications
- Conduct daily site walks and proactively identify project risks and opportunities
- Collaborate with Project Managers to support project budgets, schedules, and overall project success
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractor activities
- Monitor productivity and implement corrective actions when necessary
- Maintain quality control standards and ensure work meets project requirements
- Lead project safety efforts and promote a culture of accountability
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and workforce planning discussions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, inspectors, and project stakeholders
- Mentor and develop field leaders, foremen, and craft professionals
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in concrete construction field operations
- Previous experience as a Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, or equivalent leadership role
- Strong understanding of cast-in-place concrete, foundations, structural concrete, tilt-wall, slabs, and site concrete operations
- Proven ability to manage large field crews and multiple subcontractors
- Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, sequencing, and project execution
- Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced construction environment
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing large scale commercial projects
- Experience with self-perform concrete operations
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management software
- Bilingual communication skills are a plus
