Full Job Description

Job Title: Accounting Assistant

Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to support our finance team with daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to handle confidential financial information. Job is performed in an in-person office setting from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Monday thru Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

Process weekly accounts payable and daily accounts receivable transactions.
Reconcile bank statements monthly.
Record financial transactions in QuickBooks On-Line and maintain accurate accounting records.
Assist with monthly month-end close processes.
Maintain accounting files.
Process expense reports and reimbursements.
Prepare journal entries and assist with general ledger maintenance.
Support payroll processing as needed.
Respond to vendor and Homeowner inquiries regarding payments and invoices.
Assist in preparing financial reports and audit support.
Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems.
Perform administrative duties related to the accounting department.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and applicable regulations.
Complete other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative experience preferred.
Proficiency in Google Workplace, Microsoft Excel, Streamline VRS (not required)
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks On-Line or similar systems is preferred.
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of basic accounting principles (GAAP).
Experience with data entry and financial reporting.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Customer service experience is a plus.

Working Conditions:

Full-time position.
Standard office environment, Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
Occasional overtime may be required during month-end or year-end closing periods.
