Duties
- Implement new site features and contribute to the continuing improvement of the member experience
- Refine existing code to current site needs and standards
- Maintain awareness of best practices in the LAMP and DHTML space
- Develop optimized, cross-platform, mobile friendly front-end code
- Convert mockups and graphics to functional layouts and pages
Education and Relevant Skills
- B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline
- 1+ years hands-on experience with the following technologies: PHP, AJAX, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, JQuery
- Understanding of Object Oriented development concepts & design
- Strong written and communication skills
- Strong debugging and quality assurance skills
- Capacity to balance work load, priorities and deadlines in a dynamic work environment
Nice to Haves
- Prior exposure to relevant, large-scale social websites
- Working knowledge of:
- MySQL
- Flash development
- Smarty or similar templating system
- Email and Instant Messaging standards and protocols
- Ability and desire to quickly learn and adapt to new languages and techniques
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team to drive features to completion
