Full Job Description

Our Firm

We are a family law office based in San Francisco. Our office is a relaxed and friendly environment. At the same time, we maintain strict rules regarding confidentiality, and we treat clients with respect, professionalism and formality.

Position Summary

The legal admin is responsible for providing administrative and paralegal support to the attorneys. Job duties include a wide range of tasks, and the work requires close collaboration with the attorneys. He/she will interface closely with clients, potential clients and the attorneys.

Specific Responsibilities

Answering the phones and conducting intakes with potential clients
Information systems management, including saving and organizing files
Docketing and managing attorneys’ calendars and deadlines
Scheduling meetings between clients, opposing counsel, experts and mediators
Working with clients in gathering and compiling financial information and required disclosure documents; assisting clients in gathering documents and data to respond to discovery requests
Organizing, indexing and summarizing discovered and produced materials
Arranging for filing and service of pleadings and preparing production of discovery
Drafting correspondence with clients, the Court and attorneys
Drafting pleadings and discovery documents
Litigation support, including organization and preparation of exhibits for settlement conference/hearings/trial
Providing general assistance to the attorneys whenever needed

Requirements and Qualifications

At least three years of experience working as administrative support to a law firm
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent writing and proofreading skills, which will be verified during the interview process
Family law experience a plus
Experience drafting pleadings and discovery
Strong relationship skills
Computer savvy, including proficiency in Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat
Experience with Clio is a plus
Ability to conduct legal research using LexisNexis
Stable work history
