Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are a fast-growing, Italian, family-owned restaurant seeking a talented and experienced Asst. Head Chef to work with our team in delivering exceptional food to our customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for creating innovative menus that cater to our customers' tastes. As the Asst. Head Chef, you will work in partnership with the Head Chef to oversee kitchen operations, create exceptional food, and ensure the highest standards of food quality and presentation. Opportunity for growth and development is a high priority and will be provided.

Responsibilities

Be an integral part of the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Plan and design menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure quality standards are met.
Prepare and assemble ingredients required for frying & sauteing, i.e., cutting, slicing & marinating meats, vegetables & other ingredients according to established recipes or Head Chef's instructions.
Operate fryers, saute pans, & other cooking equipment to prepare food items accurately & efficiently.
Support the Head Chef in managing & supervising all kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking & plating, to ensure exceptional quality & consistency.
Help to manage inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining kitchen equipment.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen.
Coordinate catering services and special events as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant or food service management industry.
Strong teamleading and teamplayer skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
Knowledge of kitchen management practices, including menu planning and food service operations.
Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
A passion for culinary arts with a creative approach to menu development.
