Charter Research is a highly experienced and quickly growing clinical research company, based in Florida and Illinois that is looking to add to our team to help us fulfill our mission of discovering future medicines. Our company is locally owned and prides itself on providing exceptional patient experience to our participants, as well as offering agile recruitment strategies to our sponsors. Above all, we are a team, and we are seeking the right team member to add to our foundation in The Villages, Fl.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Patient Recruitment Associate is responsible for the recruitment of study participants into clinical research studies. This position requires knowledge of current clinical research studies, phone screening and scheduling, and other recruitment activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Understand clinical trial protocols and the diagnoses and medical terminology involved in each study.
Speak with potential research participants by phone and in person to explain trial opportunities and schedule patients for in-person appointments at the clinic (for a pre-screen or screen visit).
Establish rapport with potential participants and ensure courteous and efficient service is provided.
Conduct outgoing recruitment calls and answer inbound calls.
Perform various screenings by phone and in person to identify the patient’s diagnosis and exclusion factors to ensure correct placement in a study.
Match potential patients’ needs to current or upcoming studies. Log patient information in database for future studies.
Participate in community outreach programs as needed.
Provide input into marketing and advertising processes.
Maintain a “One Team” approach to trial success. To maintain healthy patient flow and ensure the success of all trials, team members may be temporarily reassigned to patient engagement or clinic responsibilities, as appropriate. This flexibility is essential to meeting our contractual obligations and ensuring a seamless experience for all trial participants.

Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Able to think broadly and maintain a working knowledge of all actively enrolling and upcoming trials.
Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
Friendly, professional demeanor and effective communication skills required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must possess a high degree of urgency and self-motivation and have a strong work ethic.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Previous experience in clinical research, customer service, sales, or hospitality preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at times.
