Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part-Time Loan Operations Assistant to support our mortgage and financial services team. This role involves assisting with loan processing, underwriting support, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of FNMA guidelines, mortgage servicing, and credit analysis, contributing to the efficient management of loan files and customer documentation. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in advancing their career within banking, mortgage, or financial services sectors.

Responsibilities

Assist with loan prcesses, including document collection and verification
Support underwriting activities by reviewing loan applications and supporting documentation
Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, TILA, and other federal or state lending laws
Process loan applications accurately using established procedures and systems
Conduct credit review to evaluate borrower financial status and risk factors
Manage escrow accounts and coordinate with escrow companies as needed
Maintain accurate records of contracts, loan documents, and related correspondence
Support mortgage servicing tasks such as payment processing and account updates
Perform basic math calculations for loan figures, interest rates, and payment schedules
Utilize 10-key typing skills for data entry tasks efficiently and accurately

Skills

Knowledge of FNMA guidelines and loan origination procedures
Must be able to speak direcly to lenders and wr=ork with their procedures
Experience with underwriting, credit review, and mortgage servicing processes
Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations, TILA, and banking compliance standards
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in document review and data entry
Proficiency in basic math calculations related to loans and payments
Ability to interpret contracts and legal documents within the financial services industry
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
Competency in using loan processing software and Microsoft Office applications such as Excel for data management

This position is ideal for candidates with prior experience in loan officer roles or banking who are seeking part-time opportunities to further develop their expertise in mortgage operations.

Pay: $19.00 - $19.25 per hour
