Full Job Description

The Child Care Food Program Monitor / Claims Specialist is responsible for processing monthly reimbursement claims, as well as, performing facility monitors as assigned by the Child Care Food Program (CCFP) Supervisor or the CCFP Director.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Collect and review participating Centers and or Child Care Homes menus to ensure compliance with Child Care Food Program (CCFP) requirements.

2. Collect, review, classify and securely maintain all supporting claim documentation: including Income Statements, CCFP/DCF enrollment documentation, purchase receipts, time logs and attendance records.

3. Ensure that all participants are provided with all necessary CCFP record keeping forms in a timely manner.

4. Issues of program non-compliance should be reported to the CCFP Supervisor for review and further action if required.

5. Submit to the CCFP Supervisor all completed monthly reports necessary for the final compilation and filing of the monthly claim for reimbursement.

6. Conduct routine on-site meal reviews of participating Child Care Centers and or Child Care Homes within a designated area in accordance to sponsor oversight procedures as assigned by the CCFP Supervisor or the CCFP Director.

7. Conduct initial meal review within 30 days for all new assigned facilities.

8. Ensure that federal and state regulations and policies are being adhered to.

9. Issue a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) when issues of non-compliance warrant such action.

10. Perform follow-up visits for all CAPs issued by monitor or office staff when warranted.

11. Provide monthly monitoring itinerary to CCFP Supervisor for prior approval.

12. Maintain a current annual monitor log documenting all facilities that have been visited, type of visit, date and outcome achieved.

13. Maintain good working relationship with providers and staff.

14. Attend all required program training sessions as assigned by the CCFP

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Experience with data entry and analysis.

3. Ability to travel within assigned area. May require working outside of normal business hours.

4. Knowledge of health practices related to food preparation and storage.

5. Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local food service regulations in child care facilities.
