Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Front Office Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, managing front desk operations with excellent customer service skills. This role requires proficiency in medical administrative support, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and strong communication abilities to ensure smooth clinic operations and accurate documentation review.

Duties

Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and others
Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures
Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software
Collect patient payments and perform medical collections as needed
Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and assist with patient inquiries
Maintain and update medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including care plans and billing information
Assist with data entry tasks such as CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and other medical documentation review processes
Support office management tasks including filing, faxing, and maintaining organized records
Ensure compliance with health information management standards and confidentiality policies

Requirements

Proven experience in a medical office environment or healthcare setting; dental clinic experience is a plus
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, E-clinical works, Medisoft etc
Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), Medicare procedures, and insurance verification processes
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and typing (including 10-key typing)
Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and bilingual abilities preferred
Ability to handle clerical tasks such as filing, documentation review, and multi-line phone system management efficiently
Experience with health information management or medical billing is advantageous
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
Previous office management or administrative support experience in a healthcare setting is desirable
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and appointment scheduling
