Job Title: Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Surgeon

Location: Tavares, Florida
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Surgeon to join a well-established orthopedic practice serving the Tavares, Florida area. This physician will provide comprehensive musculoskeletal care, specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of sports-related injuries affecting the shoulder, knee, hip, elbow, ankle, and other joints. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering exceptional patient care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of orthopedic specialists, primary care physicians, physical therapists, and athletic trainers.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic sports-related musculoskeletal injuries.
Perform arthroscopic and open orthopedic procedures, including shoulder, knee, hip, elbow, and ankle surgeries.
Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing both surgical and non-surgical approaches.
Provide fracture care, joint preservation treatments, and sports injury rehabilitation.
Collaborate with physical therapists, athletic trainers, primary care physicians, and other specialists to coordinate patient care.
Perform pre-operative consultations and post-operative follow-up care.
Interpret diagnostic imaging, including X-rays, MRI, CT scans, and ultrasound.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Participate in shared call coverage as required.
Promote injury prevention, patient education, and return-to-sport programs.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
Completion of an accredited Orthopaedic Surgery Residency.
Fellowship training in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery.
Active Florida medical license or eligibility for licensure.
DEA registration.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (or ability to obtain).
Excellent surgical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
New graduates completing fellowship and experienced surgeons are encouraged to apply.

Schedule

Full-Time
Monday–Friday
Mix of clinic and operating room responsibilities.
Shared call rotation.
