Full Job Description

Overview

Join our dedicated caregiving team as a Caregiver for the 2nd Shift, where your compassion and expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents. This role offers an energizing environment focused on providing exceptional personal care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including seniors and those with cognitive disabilities. As a vital part of our community, you will help promote independence, safety, and well-being through attentive assistance and engaging interactions. Duties

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times
Monitor residents’ vital signs and health status regularly, reporting any concerns promptly to nursing staff
Support residents with medication administration following established protocols to ensure safety and accuracy
Provide compassionate Alzheimer’s and dementia care, implementing personalized strategies to enhance quality of life
Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers, preventing injury for both residents and staff
Engage residents in social activities, recreational programs, and group outings to promote mental stimulation and socialization
Maintain accurate documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and update care plans as needed
Uphold strict safety standards through safe patient lifting practices, infection control procedures, and emergency response protocols such as First Aid and CPR

Requirements

Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory care, geriatrics, and developmental disabilities caregiving techniques
Ability to operate a standard passenger car safely for transportation purposes when required
Strong understanding of vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and basic health assessments
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments is advantageous
Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks necessary for resident transfers and mobility assistance
Valid certifications in CPR and First Aid; additional certifications in medication administration or behavior management are a plus
Excellent communication skills to effectively support clients’ needs while collaborating with team members
