Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities is your place.

The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

This position will remain open until filled. Posted 8/06/2026

Hourly/Non-Exempt: $19.35

Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly

General Description

Performs moderately complex reimbursement of claim processing work. Coordinates the proper processing of appropriate forms with assigned technical and clerical staff, transporting documents. Help implement policies and procedures related to third party client billing. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in claim processing and health-related accounts and collections work. Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent. Preferred: BA in Business Administration or related field and 2 years of experience in health-related accountancy and collection procedures or high school graduation with 4 years related experience involving administrative and technical responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of the principles of collection and accounting, and of the rules and regulations

governing reimbursement including Medicaid, Medicare, and Managed Care Plans. Skill in the use of computers. Ability to communicate effectively; orally and in writing and with the ability to train others.

In the course of being employed, understands, and implements trauma informed care practices.
Mandatory driver's license with a safe driving record.
Preferred experience working with Center billing system.
