Job Overview
Phoenix Mat is looking for a dependable Production Associate to join our sawmill and wood-products operation. This is a hands-on, entry-level production position focused on stacking, sorting, and handling lumber, along with assisting in the production of pallets and crane mats.
Our company has both English- and Spanish-speaking employees. The team leads in this production facility speak both English and Spanish, while many production employees primarily speak Spanish. Bilingual skills are helpful for communicating with coworkers, but they are not required.
Job Responsibilities
- Stack and organize lumber coming from production lines
- Separate boards by wood species, thickness, size, and quality
- Inspect boards and remove material that does not meet specifications
- Install bolts, nails, and other fasteners into wood products using manual tools or automated equipment
- Handle, carry, sort, and stage lumber throughout the production area
- Use basic hand tools and production equipment as trained
- Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized
- Follow safety procedures and instructions from team leads
- Assist with other sawmill and production duties as needed

- Ability to perform repetitive, physical work throughout the shift
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and handle lumber safely
- Attention to board size, thickness, species, and product quality
- Ability to work well with a team
- Willingness to learn new jobs and production processes
- Sawmill, pallet, construction, manufacturing, or general-labor experience is helpful but not required
- Bilingual English and Spanish skills are helpful but not required

Schedule
This is a full-time position averaging approximately 40–50 hours per week. Overtime may be available or required depending on production needs.
