About Us

We are a patient-focused ophthalmology clinic dedicated to providing exceptional eye care in a welcoming and professional environment. We are seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our patients. If you enjoy helping others, thrive in a fast-paced medical office, and have excellent customer service skills, we'd love to hear from you.

Position Summary

The Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for creating a positive patient experience by greeting patients, managing appointments, verifying insurance information, and supporting the daily operations of the clinic. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Welcome patients and visitors with a friendly and professional attitude.
Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
Check patients in and out for appointments.
Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations.
Collect co-pays, balances, and process payments.
Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Scan and upload documents into patient charts.
Coordinate with physicians, technicians, and clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
Respond to patient questions and assist with administrative needs.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous medical office or receptionist experience preferred.
Experience in ophthalmology or optometry is a plus but not required.
Familiarity with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Preferred Skills

Insurance verification and prior authorization experience.
Strong customer service background.
Accurate data entry and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
