Job Summary/Basic Function

The Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) will work closely with several faculty members during the Fall 2022 semester. Depending on needs, the successful candidate will be expected to:

assist faculty with research projects, including library and web-based research;
assist the MA program with internal research pertinent to the program’s goals;
provide outreach for the MA program and/or the English department;
assist with event planning, hosting authors, etc.;
assist the MA program director or administrator with special projects;
work 6-8 hours per week during the fall semester.

Required Qualifications

Must be a Master of Arts in English student.

Physical Requirements of this position

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or consistently to move objects, including the human body. Sitting most of the time. Walking and standing only occasionally if ever.

Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision.

Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.
