Full Job Description

Title: Health Unit Coordinator - Nursery

Shift: Part Time, Nights (7pm-7am)

This position will be scheduled approximately 24 hours per week and will be located in the Special Care Nursery Unit at The Christ Hospital Health Network (TCHHN) located at 2139 Auburn Ave. Cincinnati Ohio 45219.

Unit Description: Special Care Nursery is a 15 bed level II nursery. The average infant in SCN is between 32 and 36 weeks gestation and requires respiratory or feeding assistance. In addition to caring for SCN infants, SCN Staff RN's attend all deliveries and perform initial assessments on every newborn.

Job Overview: The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) will greet visitors and assist them as needed. Provide the clerical support to the clinical team in carrying out the daily functions of patient care. This position provides the pivotal communication link for processing information/requests to and from patients, staff, visitors, physicians, and other departments or agencies. Has responsibility for initiating and/or ensuring the data entry of patient related functions/ processes, as well as the management (maintenance) of the medical record and its related forms, documents, from admission to discharge. Communication is culturally based and age-specific.

The Health Unit Coordinator may perform the following duties:

Maintain positive customer relations in daily contact with physicians, visitors, patients and others. Keep Clinical Manager/staff informed of issues.
Computer responsibilities as assigned
Chart Responsibilities as assigned
Maintain environment/supplies/equipment

Education: High School graduate or GED

Experience: Skilled in medical terminology preferred.

Location: TCHHN · NURSERY-9S
Schedule: Part Time, Nights, 7pm - 7am
