A Senior Surgery Biller is a specialized medical billing professional with extensive experience in processing claims for surgical procedures. They are responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing for surgical services, often working with complex coding and insurance regulations. Their role involves understanding medical terminology, coding standards (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS), and insurance guidelines to facilitate accurate claim submissions and reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities of a Senior Surgery Biller:

Claim Submission and Processing: Reviewing medical records, applying appropriate coding, and submitting claims to insurance companies.
Coding Accuracy: Ensuring accurate coding for surgical procedures, diagnostic tests, and other related services.
Insurance Knowledge: Understanding different insurance plans, their coverage, and reimbursement policies.
Follow-up and Discrepancy Resolution: Tracking claim status, addressing denials, and resolving billing discrepancies with insurance companies.
Compliance: Adhering to HIPAA regulations and other relevant healthcare laws and regulations.
