Insurance Sales Agent – Independent Agency
Boardman, OH | Full-Time | In-Office
Base: $40,000 | OTE: $60,000

Tired of cold leads, dusty cubicles, and working for a captive that limits what you can sell?

We're hiring for an established independent insurance agency with two offices, 25+ years in business, and a 4,000-client book that needs someone to grow it — not manage it from a desk.

Here's what makes this different:

Leads come to you. Quotes get built for you. A dedicated service team handles renewals and policy maintenance. Your job is to show up, build relationships, and close.

You're not a CSR. You're not a cold caller. You're a producer with infrastructure behind you — and that's rare.

What you'll actually be doing:

Working inbound leads from referrals, web, and marketing
Cross-selling existing single-policy clients into multi-policy households
Mining a book where only 15% of 4,000 clients have life insurance — that's your opportunity
Building your pipeline in HubSpot and hitting monthly production goals
Occasional local outreach and community presence (~40 businesses/month)

The money:

$40,000 base to start
Life & Health License obtained after hire: +$2,500 raise
Medicare Certification: +$2,500 raise (required within 6 months)
Path to $45,000 base through licensing and production milestones
Monthly P&C bonuses: up to $3,000/month based on production
Life insurance: 50% commission split
Medicare: 25% commission split
$5,000 milestone bonus when you hit $500K in retained P&C business

Note on licensing: Base salary bumps are tied to milestones completed after your start date. If you're already fully licensed coming in, your base growth will be tied to Medicare certification and production performance rather than licensing bumps.

Realistic year one: $60,000–$75,000. Top performer ceiling is higher.

What we need from you:

Active P&C License — required day one, no exceptions
Consultative sales instincts — warm, people-first, knows how to follow up and close
Life & Health License (or willing to obtain within 90 days)
Someone who wants to learn how a successful independent agency actually runs

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
