What we need:
We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of intermittent Natural Resources Technician 1, within the Office of Coastal Management, assigned to Erie County.
What you will do:
Education Assistant Duties: Assist with logistics, design, and implementation of estuary and coastal wetland education programs for the public, professionals, and students. Provide trail, canoe, and facility tours. Assist with volunteer coordination. Staff the visitor center, answering public inquiries and orienting visitors to the Reserve. Provide live animal care, including fish, amphibians, and reptiles. Other duties as assigned.
Preferred qualifications:
We are looking for individuals who are self-starters, can succeed within a team setting, and have strong public speaking and writing skills. Applicants would benefit from knowledge of environmental science and/or education, natural resource management, communications, or a related field. An understanding of water safety and First Aid/CPR certifications is preferred.

Approximately 30 to 40 hours per week
This position requires significant weekend hours and some evening hours
This position is limited to 1000 hours in a fiscal year

Qualifications
Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication & division & in reading & speaking common English vocabulary; valid driver’s license; valid Commercial Driver’s License required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by Section 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio Revised Code.
