Are you passionate about nurturing new families through the tender, transformative seasons of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum?
The Womb Wellness Center is seeking compassionate, reliable, and heart-centered Birth & Postpartum Doulas to join our dedicated team. We are looking for versatile practitioners who can support clients through labor and birth, provide vital daytime postpartum support, and offer overnight comfort and care during the critical night hours.
Position Details
- Position: Birth and Postpartum Doula (Daytime & Overnight)
- Status: Part-Time & Full-Time Opportunities
- Schedule:
- Birth Support: On-call availability for labor and birth clients.
- Overnight Postpartum Care: Shifts typically run from 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
- Daytime Postpartum Care: Flexible 4-8 hour daytime shifts based on family needs.
- Location: In-home care across Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.
- Start Date: Ongoing hiring; immediate openings available.
Key Responsibilities- Birth Doula Support:
- Provide continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to families during pregnancy, active labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period.
- Conduct prenatal and postpartum planning visits to help families define and process their birth preferences.
- Serve as a calm, grounded advocate for the birthing person in hospital, birth center, or home birth environments.
Postpartum Doula Support (Day & Night):
- Provide non-judgmental emotional and physical support to postpartum parents during daytime or overnight hours.
- Care for newborns while parents rest, heal, and sleep (including feeding, soothing, diapering, and establishing gentle sleep rhythms).
- Offer evidence-based guidance on newborn care, healing, and postpartum recovery.
- Support lactation, breastfeeding, or bottle-feeding routines.
- Perform light household tasks directly related to baby care (washing bottles/pump parts, baby laundry, tidying the nursery, or prep).
- Help with meal preparation.
We’d Love to Hear From You If You Have:
- Training & Certification: Completion of a reputable Birth and/or Postpartum Doula training program (DONA, CAPPA, ProDoula, Birthing from Within, or similar). Being fully certified is ideal, but we highly encourage and support candidates who have completed their training and are actively working toward their certification!
- Flexibility: Availability for overnight care (9 PM – 7 AM) alongside openness to daytime postpartum support and on-call birth schedules.
- Experience: Prior experience caring for newborns, infants, or supporting families through birth/postpartum transitions.
- Core Qualities: A calm, grounded, nurturing presence with exceptional listening and communication skills.
- Safety & Travel: CPR/Infant First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain), reliable transportation, and a willingness to travel to clients’ homes.
- Health Protocols: Willingness to follow family-specific safety protocols (DTap, flu, or other requested precautions).
