Position Summary
Join the global leader in warehouse storage solutions. NEDCON is European-based company specializing in the design and supply of steel storage systems and racking structures. As a Structural Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the realization of complex warehouse storage and Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) projects across North America. Working closely with system integrators, project teams, customers, and inspection authorities, you will engineer innovative steel structures that support a wide range of logistics and distribution operations.
As a Structural Design Engineer (SE), you will design steel storage structures in accordance with applicable North American codes and standards. You will be responsible for developing structural designs utilizing cold-formed steel profiles and performing structural analyses that consider static, dynamic, seismic, and operational loading, including the effects of robotic equipment used within automated storage systems.
You will work on a diverse range of projects, from conventional pallet racking systems to some of North America's most advanced ASRS installations. The role requires designing complex and high-bay structures, evaluating a variety of structural systems, materials, and stabilization concepts, and ensuring that all designs meet customer requirements, applicable codes, and NEDCON's safety philosophy.
You will work closely with the Sales Team during the quotation phase to develop technically sound and cost-effective solutions while also supporting project execution through construction and project completion. As the structural engineering expert, you must be able to substantiate and communicate design decisions to customers, third-party reviewers, and inspection authorities. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously and remain involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from proposal and concept development through final realization.
In this position, you will be part of NEDCON USA LLC, which delivers storage solutions throughout North America in collaboration with leading system integration partners. While system integrators are responsible for automation, controls, and material handling equipment, NEDCON is responsible for the engineering and supply of the steel storage and racking structures that form the foundation of both conventional and highly automated warehouse systems.
