POSITION: Digital Media & Web Technology Intern
RESPONSIBLE TO: Communications Specialist
JOB GOAL:
To support the district’s Communications Department through the application of digital media
technologies, web systems, and data-driven marketing tools. The intern will assist in
producing multimedia content, supporting website analysis and improvements, and utilizing
digital platforms to enhance communication efforts while developing career-ready technology
skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
? Interest and/or demonstrated ability in digital media production, web design, or digital
marketing technologies
? Experience with or willingness to learn video production and editing tools (e.g., Adobe
Premiere Pro, iMovie, or similar)
? Familiarity with basic photography equipment and digital file management systems
? Basic knowledge of graphic design platforms (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or
similar)
? Interest in website design, content management systems (CMS), or UI/UX concepts
? Familiarity with social media platforms and digital publishing tools
? Interest in data analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics or platform insights)
? Experience with Windows, Google Workspace, and standard productivity software
? Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
? Strong communication and organizational skills
? Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of
Education may find appropriate
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
? Ability to learn and apply new technology systems and software platforms
? Strong attention to detail when organizing and managing digital content
? Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
? Ability to analyze digital content performance and suggest improvements
? Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
? Ability to collaborate with staff and external partners on technology-based initiatives
? Ability to take direction and apply feedback constructively? Basic understanding of digital file structures, data organization, and content
workflows
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Capture and edit digital video content for district communications (e.g., Miller Minutes,
Legislative Updates) using industry-standard editing software
? Photograph district events and manage digital photo libraries, including sorting, tagging,
and archiving images
? Conduct a structured review of the district website, including developing a
comprehensive sitemap and content inventory
? Assist in evaluating website usability and navigation using basic UI/UX principles
? Support updates and content improvements within the district’s Content Management
System (CMS)
? Create digital graphics for social media using design software and collaborate on content
strategies
? Assist with publishing and managing content across digital platforms (Facebook,
Instagram, LinkedIn)
? Utilize analytics tools to monitor performance of digital content and support
data-informed decision making
? Organize and maintain digital assets, ensuring proper file naming conventions and
storage systems
? Participate in meetings related to website design, digital communications, and social
media planning
? Provide technical and administrative support for communications projects as needed
? Perform other duties as assigned

Multimedia Production Technology
? Utilize digital cameras, audio equipment, and editing software to produce high-quality
video and photo content
? Apply editing techniques including cutting, transitions, audio balancing, and exporting
for multiple platforms
? Optimize media files for web, social media, and mobile use
Web Systems & User Experience (UX)
? Analyze website structure and develop a detailed sitemap of district web pages
? Apply basic user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) principles to evaluate site
navigation and accessibility
? Assist with content updates and restructuring within the district’s CMS, as district
prepares to transfer to a new website provider next school year
? Participate in planning for website redesign and system improvements
Digital Marketing Technology & Analytics
? Use digital platforms to design, publish, and manage social media content
? Apply analytics tools (Google Analytics, platform insights) to evaluate engagement
and performance metrics
? Assist in identifying trends and recommending improvements based on data analysis
Digital Asset & Data Management
? Organize and maintain structured digital libraries for photos and videos
? Apply consistent file naming, tagging, and archiving systems
? Support data entry and content management within digital platforms
Digital Design & Communication Tools
? Use graphic design software to create visually engaging digital content
? Apply accessibility and usability principles to digital materials
? Support branding consistency across all digital platforms
Workflow, Collaboration & Technology Integration? Participate in meetings focused on digital communications, website systems, and content
strategy
? Collaborate with staff to improve digital workflows and efficiency
? Maintain confidentiality and security when working within district technology systems
