Temporary Human Resources Coordinator (6–9 Month Assignment)

Temporary Full-Time Position
Anticipated Assignment: August or September 2026 through approximately April or May 2027

AG Millworks, a custom manufacturer of luxury windows and doors, is seeking an experienced, organized, and professional Temporary Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. This is a full-time temporary assignment expected to last approximately 6–9 months, supporting the Human Resources department during a planned leave.

As the sole Human Resources professional, you will independently manage the day-to-day HR operations for approximately 45–50 employees while partnering with company leadership on recruiting, employee relations, payroll administration, compliance, and other HR initiatives. Because this position serves as the primary HR contact for a bilingual workforce, fluency in both English and Spanish is required to effectively communicate with employees regarding hiring, onboarding, benefits, leaves of absence, payroll, workplace policies, employee relations, and other Human Resources matters.

Duties & Responsibilities

Serve as the primary Human Resources contact for all employees.
Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including reviewing applications, conducting phone screens, coordinating interviews, and performing reference checks.
Coordinate new hire onboarding, conduct orientations, and maintain employee personnel files (electronic and paper).
Maintain employee timecard records, monitor attendance, and process weekly payroll.
Administer employee leaves, benefits, employment verifications, unemployment claims, and other HR programs.
Respond to employee questions and provide guidance regarding company policies, procedures, and employment matters in both English and Spanish.
Partner with managers on employee relations issues while ensuring consistent application of company policies.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, California, and local employment laws and regulations.
Prepare HR reports, audit timecards, maintain spreadsheets, and complete special HR projects.
Perform other HR and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources experience required.
Fluent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish are required.
Thorough knowledge of California and federal employment laws, including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, CFRA, wage and hour requirements, and other applicable employment regulations.
Experience processing payroll and maintaining employee timekeeping records.
Ability to work independently and manage all day-to-day HR functions with minimal supervision.
Excellent organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business software.

Temporary Assignment & At-Will Employment

This is a temporary, full-time position with an anticipated start date of August or September 2026 and an expected duration through approximately April or May 2027. The assignment is expected to last approximately 6–9 months; however, the start date, end date, and duration are estimates only and may be shortened, extended, or otherwise modified based on business needs.

Employment with AG Millworks is at will, meaning either the employee or the Company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or advance notice, subject to applicable California law.
