El Jardín Spanish Program
El Jardín exists to provide Spanish immersion in an outdoor learning environment where students experience learning Spanish language and culture, gardening/farming/nature studies, sustainability, and art.
Duties & Responsibilities
You will be responsible for teaching and managing your class group during El Jardín while speaking in Spanish roughly 90% of the time (immersion). This includes, but is not limited to, carrying out the day’s lesson plans which are pre-created and given to you in advance (morning introductions, calendario, song, teaching new Spanish vocabulary, directing the activity that incorporates those new words, leading the gardening and farming activities, organizing clean-up, overseeing students during lunch-time, recess time, and play time, managing siesta, facilitating art), continually checking for understanding, and being creative on-the-spot to make the most of learning moments for students to learn, understand, have fun, and appreciate Spanish language and culture.

***Must be available for virtual training the second week of August 2026
Classes will be Thursdays and Fridays 10:00-2:00 pm
Teachers are expected to arrive 30 minutes prior and stay about 30 minutes after to close the farm down. *** The end-time can be flexible to allow one teacher to leave early if needed.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
