Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced tax professional to replace a long-tenured team member retiring after 40 years with our firm. This is a rare opportunity to step into a well-established role with strong client relationships and a respected community presence.

This is a senior-level tax position responsible for preparing and reviewing a wide range of returns while also overseeing bookkeeping and payroll functions.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, client-focused, and comfortable working in a small firm environment where quality and relationships matter. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your extensive tax expertise, contribute to strategic planning, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards. As a key member of our accounting team, you will drive tax planning efforts, manage compliance processes, and support financial reporting with precision and insight. Your proactive approach and deep understanding of tax laws will help optimize our financial position while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and transparency.

Our Pauls Valley office has been newly renovated and offers a professional, comfortable environment. The selected candidate will have a private office with windows. Depending on experience and preference, this role may split time between our Pauls Valley and Norman locations.

Responsibilities

Prepare and/or review:

Form 1040 – Individual Returns
Form 1065 – Partnerships (including real estate entities)
Form 1120S – S Corporations
Form 1120 – C Corporations
Form 1041 – Trusts & Estates
Form 990 – Nonprofits
Review and oversee bookkeeping engagements
Review payroll reporting and compliance
Assist with tax planning and client consultations
Work directly with clients to gather information and resolve issues
Ensure compliance with federal and Oklahoma tax law. Extensive experience in tax accounting with a strong background in corporate accounting principles such as GAAP and double entry bookkeeping

Skills

Proficiency in accounting software including Ultra Tax or similar tax software, QuickBooks, Accounting CS, or similar platforms; strong technical skills in financial software applications.
Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial reports and perform detailed account reconciliation.
Excellent communication skills for preparing clear financial report writing and presenting analysis findings effectively.
Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines; experience with accounts payable and payroll processes is a plus. Join us if you’re ready to leverage your advanced tax expertise in a dynamic environment that values innovation and precision!
