Job description:

Newton Design, a quality supplier of simulation and training equipment, serves the aviation industry, law enforcement agencies and military by designing, manufacturing and delivering simulated aircraft interiors and exteriors for the purpose of training air crew and law enforcement. In 1988 founder, Jesse Newton, began building training equipment in his garage, as a one-man operation. In 1996, Newton Design was established with the commitment to quality simulation and training equipment at competitive prices. The company has changed significantly over the years with now over 70 employees but our commitment to quality simulation and training equipment at a competitive price hasn’t. We are growing and looking for individuals with various manufacturing skills and experience. Come join us!

We are looking for a Commercial/Industrial Painter to perform sandblasting, surface preparation, priming and painting of structural steel, aluminum assemblies and other manufactured components.

Responsibilities

· Operate spray guns to apply primers and finish coats to industrial, commercial and automotive-related products.

· Perform sand blasting and surface preparation of structural steel and aluminum assemblies.

· Sand, prep, clean and mask surfaces to ensure smooth, even paint application.

· Apply carbon-zinc coatings, water-based paints and other industrial coatings according to specifications.

· Load and unload parts from racks and workstations.

· Inspect painted surfaces to ensure quality and conformance to specifications.

· Maintain spray guns, paint booths and related equipment in serviceable condition.

· Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.

Qualifications

· High School Diploma or GED required.

· Ability to read and follow work instructions and specifications.

· Basic math skills.

· Experience with sandblasting and surface preparation preferred.

· Ability to lift, move and handle parts and assemblies safely.

Skills and Competencies

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

· Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative.

· Good organizational and time management skills.

· Proactive with strong problem-solving abilities.
